Amsterdam

Wednesday, March 16

I ran away to Amsterdam for a long weekend, I am predisposed to some airport panic but I had some techniques, music and bleary tired eyes from an early rush to the airport , I had to have some stop moments of stopping, taking a breath and reordering my head. Instantly the proud architecture stood up to me, making the bleak but bright weather quite beautiful.

My Month

Saturday, September 26

Here are my curated imaged from the last month and a bit.

I've had quite an unusual month and haven't been fabulous with going to new and interesting places, also often forgetting to take photos, to make note of the good things and times in the real world.

I vow to take more pictures and have more good times.

Anxious Adventures: Auction Edition

Thursday, September 24

Auctions are a rather interesting way of buying beautiful things but research is key, get as much information as possible. This way of shopping IS for you, wether you are looking for things to resell or to furnish your home. I have seen, unsold,  items identical to the style and props occupying the more popular blogs and magazines including Condé Nast.

I need this on my wall.

  • I’m quite cautious about spending, so, a rigid budget is important to me.  Even if you have endless funds I'd still suggest sticking to your guns and try to stay with in budget, its a downward spiral once you pass it - trust me, I know...  All the same do trust your gut and your eye when choosing a list of items.

  • Ensuring you know of each item, so that you cannot be surprised by something you love but haven’t  had chance to think about it. (Make notes,  your maximum bid, item number remind yourself to be mindful in the moment and not get over excited.)

  • It was a last minute decision for me to go along to this auction but I luckily had chucked on a patterned scarf which turns out to be useful in getting attention, keeping the cold at bay and if you get scared to disappear into.

  • Be quiet, be clear and be calm. The auctioneer will not be afraid of “banter”  especially if you’re drawing attention to yourself, talking at anything more than a whisper is frowned upon so for us sometimes quiet and awkward people it can be a stellar socializing opportunity ;)

Its actually very exciting once things get rolling, expect some refreshments and interesting people to chat with and perhaps have a second look at the unsold items…

Let me know what you think of auctions and suggest any I should check out!

Anxious Adventures: Tate Summer Party Edition

Sunday, June 14

At the start of summer I received an invite from Tate Britain to their annual Summer Party, needless to say, this was an instant RSVP but I didn’t quite know until I reached the Millbank Entrance what I’d let myself in for. The arts, eccentrics and events that fuel my hope and enthusiasm socially keep me going through the stormier seasons.

The Second Hander

Wednesday, June 3

(The Mini Market Post)

I have been doing alot more preloved purchasing, I always have favoured the second hand due to enjoying rarity among other perks you get whilst playing the preloved field. Now, I have a much more concious, mindful approach to the situation although I didn't suddenly decide to change my mind set,

Days in London

Monday, May 18

I went visiting in London and ended up in a unexpected heatwave, Beautiful.

Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Tuesday, May 5

The first attack that I’d consider a "panic attack" was really unexpected so much so that I ran as fast as I could, I don't know wether I was running away from it or toward help, I still don't know. What isn't commonly understood is that anxiety and panic attacks are terrifying so it is not only that I fear “____” I fear the fear.

Within the throes of anxiety I become a wet-eyed shell - all of my thoughts and senses are diced and garbled like I am time travelling in paralysis.
